Fundraising and More

April has been a very busy month! Our Spring 2019 Fundraising Campaign has given us an opportunity to increase our social media marketing, meet prospective donors, collaborate with community partners, and begin planning summer and fall activities. With only 4 days remaining for the campaign, we are actively trying to raise awareness and funding that will allow us to carry out our mission of supporting students and parents. If you have not already done so, please make a tax-deductible donation and ask others to do so as well.

Special thanks to Susie and Pam, right photo, at Sylvan Learning (DeKalb County) for their role in helping to promote the fundraising campaign this month. You're the best!

Another thank you is well deserved for Principal Jason Heard at Cross Keys High School for also helping to promote Kennrod. Your efforts are greatly appreciated!

Finally, we are excited about adding Kumon-Cascade to our list of tutoring providers. This location will allow us to serve students in the Fulton County area. The Kumon-Cascade Director, Nicole Pass, is a licensed psychologist and is committed to helping students succeed.

As the end of the 2018-2019 school year quickly approaches, let’s keep in mind that learning has to continue to occur year-round in order for students to retain information and continue to grow intellectually. Suggestions include, but are not limited to:

1) Participation in a summer reading program

2) Participation in summer school or summer academic camps

3) Visits to museums and other historic sites

4) Dedicating time each day toward critical thinking activities, i.e. math, puzzles.

5) Vacation time with family – talk/write about what you learned

Thank you very much for your interest and support of Kennrod!
